On behalf of the Greater Tampa Chapter ONS, I want to send thoughts and prayers to those affected by the latest hurricanes. Many were harmed in several different ways ranging from losing power to losing everything. It is times like these that bring us to appreciate everything we have, to realize the blessings we can count every single day, and to cherish those around us.

I had the fantastic opportunity to attend The ONS Chapter Leadership Workshop in Pittsburg this summer. There, I learned of the new improvements and upgrades to the ONS and virtual chapter sites. Some of the enhancements include the new membership database platform, launching in November, which will enable better member networking and communication at the local level. We will have a real-time member directory as well as a single sign-on using ONS credentials.

Our chapter has steadily grown in association and influence over the years. I would like to encourage you to maximize the value of your membership by taking advantage of the chapter's offerings and networking with your colleagues. I would also like to motivate all our members to consider becoming involved, either as a board member or on a specific project. Becoming engaged in the chapter activities could be personally valuable to you and your profession. If you are in interested in being more active in the chapter, please feel free to reach out to me or to one of the board members for more information.

Our annual conference date for 2018 is Saturday, April 7th. Past participants’ testimonials identify these events as rewarding, empowering, and a great opportunity to network and also win fabulous prizes. We hope everyone will make it his or her mission to attend next year. Again, thank you for the opportunity to serve you as your President.
